There were multiple sources that have reported that Stephen Curry is likely to be announced as the NBA’s Most Valuable Player tomorrow. For the whole NBA season, Curry and Rockets ‘James Harden have already been battling for the MVP award, because they both led their team to 55+ wins seasons.
Curry led the Warriors to a franchise-best record 67-15 while Harden and the Rockets finished 56-26. Curry is definitely the more desirable pick for MVP because of his style of play. Stephen Curry is considered one of the top shooters to ever play the overall game, while also being able to break defender’s ankles to really make the crowd jump out of their seats. Harden’s style of play is different in the sense he extends to the free throw line a lot better than anyone in the league. Some fans say that Harden’s game is “boring” due to just how many times he visits the free throw line, but the MVP award isn’t about who is most exciting, it is all about who his most valuable and productive to their team.

James Harden was the absolute most valuable to his team and was more productive than Curry statistically all year.
Comparing the two, Harden averaged 27.4 points, 7.0 assists, and 5.7 rebounds while Curry averaged 23.8 points, 7.7 assists, and 4.3 rebounds.
Remember, Harden surely could clinch the two-seed in the West for the Rockets as he handled teammates Dwight Howard, Terrence Jones, and Donatas Motiejunas all missing extended time. Curry had the true luxury of having fun with All-Star teammate Klay Thompson and other high-level players like Draymond Green and David Lee.
The common method to break up the MVP award is to take that one player off their team and project the success. Absolutely no way the Houston Rockets would even make the playoffs in the West this year if Harden wasn’t on the team combined with the injuries they had to deal with. Golden State besides Curry would have easily made the playoffs. .
There’s no doubt that Stephen Curry had an exceptional season in 2010, but James Harden carried his team single-handily to the two-seed and continue steadily to advance in the playoffs. The actual treat for NBA fans will be for the Rockets and Warriors to generally meet in the Western Conference Finals to see who really is the better player of the 2014-15 season. It’s still possible that will happen, all you are able to do is hope.
