Set aside a second to allow that settle in. Jimmy Graham is going to Seattle. So I awesome now that the Saints have decided to rebuild to a place while the Seahawks have made their statement on making sure they’ve a solid chance to make their third straight Super Bowl in 2015.
Disagree to some degree; Wilson loves throwing the ball to the TE; Luuuke Willson and Zack Miller did OK and they are nowhere near the expertise of Graham. Concerned about his blocking ability (or lack thereof),
Graham had 85 catches for the Saints last season for 889 yards and 10 touchdowns. Graham was clearly the No. 1 option in the New Orleans offense and now he is moving forward to a group that needed a big-time passing threat for Russell Wilson to go to.
Graham though will be the gamer that Wilson is looking for all the time now and could easily end up getting 100 catches next season for Seattle. It is really a shocking trade especially for New Orleans, who may have decided that their window is closing and wanted to get something big back for Jimmy. They now have Max Unger to be their center and the Seahawks’ first-round draft pick where they can add another wide receiver to the Brandin Cooks and Marques Colston combo.
Tom Sells Freesportspicksdaily.com writes “Jimmy has taken for the Saints and believe me the Saints made the smart move the past couple of years he has led the team in drops and the league certainly one of them. He doesn’t block and can’t beat physical press coverage add to that particular he routinely drops what must certainly be an easy catch not worth the salary.”
