For the next time this season, the Arizona Cardinals lost a starting QB to the St. Louis Rams. After they saw Carson Palmer land on IR because of torn ACL, they had to endure watching Drew Stanton be carted off the field on Thursday night with a leg injury of his own. While we don’t know how bad this injury is currently, hopes aren’t high that he’ll have the ability to return anytime soon.
Which explains why Cardinals defensive tackle Darnett Dockett took to Twitter after the game to subtly hint at what he thinks the Cardinals’direction should really be moving forward.
Warner retired from the NFL in 2009, 12 months after leading the Cardinals to the Super Bowl. And he has to be be rather rusty with 5 years of retirement under his belt, Warner certainly couldn’t be any worse than third-string quarterback Ryan Lindley, who filled in miserably after Stanton transpired against the Rams.
It’s highly unlikely Warner will leave the comfort of the broadcast booth to lead the 10-4 Cardinals, but it had been an epic tweet from Dockett nonetheless.
