NBA Update – There has been some talk Rondo might play one or two games with the Celtics D-League team, the Maine Red Claws, and that could still happen before he plays his first game for the Celtics this season.
Rodno mentioned that he’s “pretty close” to playing with the Celtics, so his short stint with the Maine Red Claws will probably come later this month.
NBA Update Tuesday – The Boston Celtics play the Los Angeles Lakers this Friday and they could have their starting point guard back in the lineup. Rajon Rondo, according to ESPNBoston.com, sent out a cryptic tweet late Monday and most of the media are speculating he will make his return from ACL surgery against the Lakers.
“I get the impression, it will be sooner rather than later.” head coach Brad Stevens said on Monday. “I’d be guessing. I think you could say possibly. It wouldn’t be anything where I would be speaking with certainty.”
Once Rondo does return he will probably have a restriction on his minutes for at least a few weeks.
