The San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl takes place on Wednesday, December 23rd with the Boise State Broncos playing the Northern Illinois Huskies on ESPN. The Broncos enter into this game at 8-4 whilst the Huskies are 8-5. Neither team has this game playing that well while the Boise State Broncos have dropped two of their past three games whilst the Northern Illinois Huskies have lost their past two games.
The Broncos won 8 games this season but these were the official disappointment because they didn’t win the Mountain West. They dropped games to New Mexico, Air Force and Utah State. The offense was good because they averaged nearly 38 points per game whilst the defense allowed just 21 points per contest. The Broncos could win when freshman quarterback Brett Rypien played well but when he made mistakes they lost. The Broncos went over the total six times and under the total six times in their 12 games.
The Huskies dropped their past two games because they lost to Ohio and Bowling Green. Northern Illinois scored 33 points per game and allowed 25 points per contest. The Huskies have been a negative bowl team recently with losses to Florida State, Marshall and Utah State. There’s no mystery in regards to what Northern Illinois is going to do in this game because they are likely to run the ball. The Huskies averaged over 200 yards in 8 of their 13 games this season.
NCAAF Prediction San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl – Boise State are is the better team but they simply can’t be trusted to win and cover. I will take the points with the Huskies in this contest.
