Who Will Be the Starting QB For Texans In 2015?

The Houston Texans involve some major quarterback questions heading into 2015 and names like Brian Hoyer, Sam Bradford, Michael Vick and Mark Sanchez might be options on the free agent market, while and RG3 or Jay Cutler might be potential trade targets for Bill O’Brien if he opts to create a move over Ryan Mallett, Ryan Fitzpatrick or Tom Savage.

The Texans experienced inconsistent play at quarterback all season and after starting with Ryan Fitzpatrick, the team looked to Ryan Mallett, but he left the game with a injury and now both players are out. The team looked to Tom Savage but he came down having an injury as well and now moving forward the Texans may look at other players to come in for next season. ESPN.com reported that Brian Hoyer is a target for the Texans along with the Titans, while Mark Sanchez has also played well in 2010 and is actually a potential target on the free agent market.

The Texans had the opportunity to select Blake Bortles, Teddy Bridgewater or Johnny Manziel in 2010 but went with Jadeveon Clowney and now that’s looking just like a bad move. Clowney does have a little talent but just seems to be an ok player, it’s just been a up and down season as a rookie while dealing with injuries, the future who knows. Clowney is having micro fracture surgery and that’s hard to come back from and if he ultimately ends up a bust, the QB roll will look ever worse for the Texans. Jay Cutler may be a target if he’s traded by the Bears after getting benched.

Bradford is an appealing option, since the Texans could buy low on him if he’s released by the Rams after the season. Bradford is coming away from another major injury to his knee and he’s a cap number of 16.58 million next season and which means he might be on the chopping block. Bradford indicates some potential in his career, but he’s handled injuries in each season and that might cause him hitting the market. NFL.com reports that the Rams are intending to bring Bradford back, but when that changes, the Texans might be an selection for him.

Bradford has only played in sixteen games once previously three seasons and that was his best year with 3702 yards and 21 TDs. Last season Bradford only played seven games and threw for 1687 yards and 14 TDs and now he might be a choice to obtain released. Hoyer is an appealing option as well, as he’s played up and down in 2010, but for some time it appeared as if he was genuine for the Browns. The team benched him for Johnny Manziel and now he might be poised to leave.
